The last day of the week saw precious metals more or less retain the position which they stood at at the end of the day Thursday. When all was said and done gold had dropped about 4 dollars while silver managed to pick up 4 pennies.

There was not any earth shattering news to report on Friday, indicative of gold and silver not moving very much. Eyes are still fixated on Europe and they will continue to be in the near future. If Europe cannot solve many of its nations financial problems it is going to be in for some major, negative upheaval very soon.

Some investors are beginning to worry about the possibility that gold and silver may be declining in popularity. Over the past ten years gold and silver have taken significant steps forward but in the past 5 months it seems as though the metals are declining in value. It is really hard to tell what will happen going forward as no one can ever be positive, but the future is uncertain to say the least.

Investors are hoping that next week starts off the same way this one did, with big gains, but they would like to see metals sustain gains throughout the whole of the 5 days. Gold ending at such a low price this week may spur a lot of purchases over the weekend because buyers will always make purchases when the price of gold has taken a dip.
