When you browse through the catalog of silver for sale from JM Bullion, you’ll notice a variety of choices. The most common options are silver bullion coins, numismatic coins, silver bars, and even silver rounds. From time to time, our catalog includes truly unique options. If you’re looking to invest in silver and want something different, silver bullets offer just what you are looking for as an option.
.45 Caliber Silver Bullets
Over time, the variety of silver bullets available to purchase changes. Currently, JM Bullion carries two different calibers of silver bullets. The smaller of the two recently added to our catalog is the .45 Caliber Silver Bullet. Developed in 1905 by famed-gunsmith John Browning, the .45 caliber cartridge was designed for a prototype Colt semi-automatic pistol. The US Cavalry began testing on such a cartridge as early as the late 1890s, but Browning perfected its design in 1905 and delivered it in the M1911 .45 semi-automatic pistol. With impressive range and stopping power for a handgun, the .45 caliber round became the standard-issue handgun of the United States Military from World War I to Vietnam and continues as a popular choice today.
The 1 oz .45 Caliber Silver Bullets it our catalog mimic the exact size and shape of a .45 caliber round. The smooth finish of the bullets includes only an engraving on the base at the bottom that denotes the weight, purity, and metal content of the bullet, along with a mint mark. JM Bullion’s 1 oz .45 Caliber Silver Bullets are available in special 10-pack boxes with .999 pure silver content for each bullet.
.308 Caliber Silver Bullets
The other silver bullet currently available in our catalog is the 2 oz .308 Caliber Silver Bullet. The .308 Winchester round is a rimless, bottlenecked rifle cartridge that was introduced by Winchester in 1952. The .308 cartridge is the basis for the common 7.62×51 NATO round used by all members of the alliance. Beyond its military applications, the .308 is an ideal round for hunters. It is commonly used to hunt medium- and large-sized game in the United States, such as whitetail deer, pronghorn, and even caribou or black bear.
The 2 oz .308 Caliber Silver Bullet also mimics the exact size and shape of the actual round. Like the .45 caliber round, these .308 Silver Bullets have a smooth finish with the only markings found on the base of the bullet. Here, you’ll find markings that read “2 oz .999 Ag.” Also included is the mint mark from SilverTowne. The 2 oz .308 Caliber Silver Bullets are housed in a 10-pack box as well.
